Knights of Columbus Conduct Charity Raffle Draw

Knights of Columbus Council 11825

St. Philip and St. Clare Knights of Columbus Council 11825 held its 2nd annual charity raffle draw on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at St. Philip Parish Hall. The council sincerely thanks everybody who purchased raffle tickets. A big special thanks goes out to Tony Graham Automotive Group for donating the grand prize (a 100 level suite for an Ottawa Senators game), and to King’s Independent Grocer, who allowed us to sell tickets at their store.

The winners of the charity raffle draw were:

Grand prize – 100 Level Suite for Ottawa Senators vs Carolina Hurricanes on Feb, 12, 2019 ($4,500 value) – Theo Ebbers, ticket #0065
Second prize – Framed autographed Alex Ovechkin Jersey ($750 value) – Neil Van Galder, ticket #0180
Third prize – $300 – Mathier Papineau, ticket #1116
Fourth prize – $200 – Deacon Louis Seward, ticket #0757
Fifth prize – $100 – Vickie Downey, ticket #0329

After the raffle draw, a cheque for $3,800 was presented to Michelle McIver of the Richmond Food Bank to help Richmond village families in need. In addition, $3,795 was given to St. Philip Parish and St. Clare Mission.

Once again, the Knights of Columbus thank everybody for their generous support!

Many Parish Knights of Columbus Join Ranks of the 4th Degree

On June 13, 2015, almost twenty members of the St. Philip and St. Clare Knights of Columbus Council #11825 travelled to Cornwall, Ontario to be explemified into the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus, the highest “rank” within the fraternal order. This degree represents patriotism, the last of the four (but certainly not the least) concepts that underpin what the Knights of Columbus stand for. It is the pinnacle of Knighthood, where its members live, serve and protect the Truth of our Catholic faith.

Afterwards, everybody came back to the St. Philip Parish Hall for the Knights year-end banquet, and to celebrate and recognize the new, and existing, Sir Knights of Council #11825.

Knights of Columbus Publish Activity Calendar for Upcoming Fraternal Year

The St. Philip and St. Clare Knights of Columbus have recently finalized their activity calendar for the upcoming 2015-2016 fraternal year. This was done following the Knights recent executive meeting and parish planning meeting.

The activity calendar can be viewed here, and also by viewing the Knights’ recently-updated webpage on the parish website.

All Knights members and parishioners are encouraged to view this calendar and mark on your calendars these dates. The Knights are an important part of the St. Philip and St. Clare Catholic community  through its many community-building and fundraising activities, and we look forward to having another successful fraternal (as well as pastoral) year in 2015-2016.

On Sunday, December 14, 2014, the St. Philip Knights of Columbus hosted their 10th annual Santa’s Lunch inside the Parish Hall. Approximately 100 children with their parents attended to have a tasty lunch, listen to timeless Christmas music and have the opportunity to meet Santa. All children received a take-away loot bag filled with candy, and food donations were received that benefited our local Richmond Food Bank. Many thanks goes out to those who came, as well as to the many Knights who helped make this another successful lunch!
